The Wiener Library

The Wiener Library is the world's oldest Holocaust memorial institution, tracing its history back to 1933, the year in which Alfred Wiener, a German Jew who worked in the Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith, fled Germany for Amsterdam and, together with Prof. David Cohen, set up the Jewish Central Information Office, collecting and disseminating information about events happening in Nazi Germany.
Today the Library, which has been located in london since 1939, continues from strength to strength, acquiring major collections, holding regular lectures and events, providing a focal point for researchers and students both young and old.

The Association of Jewish Refugees

The AJR provides extensive social, welfare and financial support services to victims of Nazi persecution living in Great Britain.
In addition to these services, the AJR has a network of regional groups, in more than 35 locations throughout the country, that enables our members to meet, socialise and share their experiences. Our volunteers department arranges for regular visits from a befriender and the Central Office for Holocaust Claims provides advice and assistance with claims for Holocaust era restitution and compensation. AJR members also receive the monthly Journal and benefit from the Centre in West Hampstead, London which serves hot lunches and offers a wide range of entertainment and activities.

Holocaust Memorial Day

The UK's national Holocaust Memorial Day has a website, located at: http://www.hmd.org.uk/. The web site has a list of the day's aims, information about the national ceremony, lists of activities, organisations and contacts and other information.

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain was formed in 1992 for both beginners and experienced researchers, with these aims:

To help one another to learn and discover more about genealogy
To encourage genealogical research
To promote the preservation of Jewish genealogical records and resources
To share information amongst members

Beth Shalom

The Beth Shalom memorial centre, near Nottingham, has a Web site that contains a variety of information including a brief summary of the Holocaust, and survivor testimonies.
